Hello, I'm Dr. Greg Vicchi and I am a Targeted Violence Expert.

The SafeDefend Academy develops and deploys research- and evidence-based training programs in violence assessment, prevention, and response. These training programs provide clients with proactive and reactive options that provide the confidence and skills to manage and survive a targeted violence attack.

 

Our Story

 

We developed the SafeDefend Academy to educate, prepare, and simplify the response to a Targeted Violence Event.  Our fearless leader, Dr. Vecchi has over 30 years of law enforcement experience and is a U.S. Army veteran. He is a retired supervisory Special Agent and Chief of the FBI Behavioral Science Unit and career FBI negotiator. During his career, Dr. Vecchi investigated Russian organized crime, international drug trafficking, international and domestic terrorism, and violent crime. In these positions, he gained extensive experience assessing and interacting with violent offenders, which he incorporates into his research, training, and consultation activities.

Dr. Vecchi has extensive experience in teaching and training. He is a Professor of Criminal Justice he was a full-time instructor at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He published a book on targeted violence: Fatal Grievances: Forecasting and Assessing Active Killer Threats in School, Campus, and Workplace Settings.
